I’m so excited to share with you one of my favorite things to decorate with…..BOOKS! I have books all over my home. New, used, old, dirty, torn, it really doesn’t matter. I’m not picky when it comes to them because you can use them in so many fun and creative ways. The ideas are endless. Today, I’m sharing with you 5 ways that I use them in my home. Hopefully, I can help you see the potential with these fun little treasures.
Hi guys!!! Happy New Year!! I’m finally all cleaned up from Christmas and I don’t know about you, but that always puts me in the mood to redecorate. I love a fresh start with my decor after the holidays. I’ve never been one to decorate for winter. I’m just ready for it to all be out. I like to begin the new year with some personal goals, along with some home goals. One of my home goals is to refresh a few things in my living room. I decided to start with the chippy doors behind my couch.
I’ve always wanted a large clock for behind my couch like the one Joanna Gaines has in her farmhouse. Of course, hers is gorgeous and antique and huge and perfect. Here it is. Like I said, its perfect. I knew I wasn’t going to find an antique clock that large (believe me, I’ve searched high and low) so I started looking in a few of my favorite stores and came across a large galvanized clock in Hobby Lobby. I’m a lover of pretty much anything that is galvanized. I have touches of rusty galvanized pieces all over my living room, so I figured this might be the perfect fit for my space. I brought it home, and I kinda love how it looks on my old chippy doors.
Guys, my husband gave me the best Christmas present!! SHIPLAP…oh, finally!! It’s the gift that keeps on giving. Well, it’s actually a faux shiplap wall, but it looks just as great and for way cheaper. I admit, I’ve been a total nag about it. He finally realized I wasn’t giving up and bought everything he was going to need this year on black Friday. He’s my favorite! I knew I wanted it in my home in a few places, and I thought the best place to start was in a hallway that connects our living room to our kitchen. We decided to go with a planked wall instead of real shiplap. Here are a few reasons why we went with planked vs. shiplap.
Hey guys! I’m back again talking more about Christmas cards. Exciting stuff, riiiiight? Well, I am a Christmas card lover! On my last post, I shared how we display our Christmas cards . Today, I thought it would be fun to show you how I created our (last minute) Christmas card in ONE day from start to finish. Boom! I even mailed them out. That’s how slackers do it!!
Happy Sunday! It’s that time of year when we get happy mail in the form of Christmas cards. I seriously LOVE me some Christmas cards!!! I get so excited when they start arriving in the mailbox. It’s one of my daughters favorite thing to do when she gets home from school. She heads straight to check the mail to see if we received any cards. We love displaying these in our home. It’s a really sweet and personal Christmas decoration. There are seriously countless ways to display them in your home, but we just keep it simple around here. It’s nothing fancy but it’s cute and easy and so very kid friendly!
Hey Friends! Can you believe it’s that time of year once again? Crazy I know. I feel like I was just putting my pumpkins out, but now it’s time to deck the blogs. I hope you are ready to get comfy, grab a cup of hot cocoa, and stay a while because I am joining some amazingly talented blogging friends once again for Deck the Blogs: A Christmas Home Tour . All of these talented girls are tagged at the bottom of my home tour, and each one offers a unique and beautiful home tour. Something for everyone!!
Hi!! Gosh, I’ve been majorly slacking guys. It’s been a while since my last blog post, but this girl is staying super busy. I know, no excuse. I love my time at night to just sit and blog. Let me just say, I appreciate each and everyone of you who choose to visit my little blog. It truly makes me smile to think you would come and see what I am up to. Well, today I am really wanting to help motivate you. I really want to help you see how easy it is to add a spark to your desired space.
Guys, I am so excited to share with you an awesome and beautiful event that I had the privilege of decorating for the past two years. This event couldn’t have been anymore perfect! The beautiful fall weather, the food, the drinks, the music, and of course the pumpkins and decor made for one of my favorite nights. It was the perfect welcome to fall!! It is a local event here in my hometown of Hendersonville, Tennessee called Farm To Table put on by Hendersonville Produce . I love this event because it shows the importance of our farms and farmers, local food, and the small businesses we have in our town. This event was a celebration of hard working folks and recognizing what they do everyday.
Hey guys! So, I believe this project takes the cake for the cheapest DIY project I have ever made. I made this fun scroll sign for a grand total of……$5!!! That’s my kind of DIY, and all it takes is a roll of Kraft paper and some items you have laying around the house. Such a fun, cheap, and easy way to decorate your home for the fall!!
Hi friends!! I’m so happy I can officially say, Happy Fall!! I hope you were able to check out my fall home tour on my last post. I had so much fun getting my home ready for fall. Sadly, this room was left out of the tour because it was the last to get all decked out. I’m kinda glad though because it gets to have it’s own little tour. I love how all the neutral pumpkins and fall decor turned out so let’s just say, I saved the best for last!!
