So, I finally figured it out. I have been racking my brain trying to figure out a word for 2019. I’ve never done this before, but I thought it sounded fun and like something that could really help me meet my goals in the new year. Hey, it’s worth a shot. So the word I chose is INTENTIONAL. Why? Well, for lots of reasons but one answer would be because planning and having a purpose for tasks is part of my New Year’s resolution and part of that involves getting my house finally organized. Not just clean but REALLY organizing every area that feels out of control. One area that I am starting with is this “catch all” desk area in my kitchen. This spot gets all the homework, bills, change, toys, random socks……etc. You get the idea. It stays and mess all the time, and I’m SO ready for a change. My goal is to be more intentional and to finally use this space for what it’s made for. So, I got busy weeding out old papers and bills and started with a clean slate. Then, I headed to Kirkland’s (my go-to place for all things home) to find the perfect storage and organization for this area. I can’t wait to show you how it looks now!!!
Happy Friday friends!! I’ve been crazy busy this week getting all the things organized that Friday snuck up on me. I’ll be sharing a few areas that got organized in my house on the blog next week, but today, I wanted to share with you an issue that so many people have when they are decorating. How to decorate around a television. Let’s face it, tv’s aren’t the cutest and most of us would rather not just have a tv sitting there. The good news is that there is a solution. There are actually so many ways to help disguise, hide, or just decorate around a tv, and today I’m sharing 5 of my favorites!
The number one FAQ that I get is about my house paint colors, so today, I wanted to go through each room and share my favorite farmhouse style paint colors. Choosing the right paint color is so HARD for me, just ask my husband. I’ll admit that I don’t have the best track record when it comes to choosing paint colors. I think we have painted and repainted almost every room in the three houses that we have lived in. Oops!! I usually end up either getting tired of a color or it doesn’t look the same on the walls compared to the paint sample. Well friends, the good news is that I think I have finally got it right (for now), and I love all of the colors that are currently in my home!
We made it to Friday guys!!! Today, I’m so excited to share something that I think is so important in your home. What is it you ask?? The answer is ENTRYWAYS!! Yep, today I’m sharing 5 different ways I have decorated and styled an entryway in my own home and a few client’s homes. Entryways are kind of a big deal in my book because that is the first impression of your home. You want a welcoming entry that represents you and your style. I believe it should also be a well put together space that is organized and simple. So, let me show you a few ideas that I love!!
Hey friends and happy Wednesday!! Today I am talking all things laundry, and I’m so excited to share with you my laundry room and how I keep it organized and pretty at the same time. If you’ve been around for a while, you remember I shared my laundry room in a post a while back and showed you what my laundry room looked like when I moved into my home. You can see the BEFORE picture HERE. It was pretty awful. I think a laundry room should be a pretty and functional space. It doesn’t have to be anything fancy, but I do believe it should be a place that makes you feel happy and relaxed. That was my goal when I started transforming my laundry room. I turned it into a room that I absolutely love. Today, I hope this post will motivate you to add a few pieces of decor or even get it a little bit more organized. Trust me, a little decor and organization goes a long way in a laundry room.
Happy Saturday!! Well, as promised I am continuing my New Year Refresh series. I love decorating my home after the holidays because it allows me to reevaluate everything in my home. It’s a fresh start and a new opportunity to start over if you want. Today, I am sharing with you how I am simplifying my living room in the new year and giving you 3 super simple tips to follow. I already shared my new year entryway with you, and now I’m moving on to the living room. My goal in here is to make a statement with shades of white, rich wood tones, and greens. These tips are simple and can really go with almost any design style.
Hey friends and happy New Year!! I hope your year has started off amazing. I’ve just been cleaning and getting my house back put together after an amazing holiday. In the new year, my goal is to give each space a simple and fresh look. I want to begin the new year loving my home and every room in it. I want to also share how to love your home. It honestly doesn’t take much. Just adding smart pieces to a space can be an easy way to update a room. I am guilty of kinda liking something because it was cheap and kinda liking it in the room but never actually loving it. This year, I am determined to love everything that I pick out for my home. With that, I also want to share with you pieces that I already have and love. One of those things that I believe every home needs is either a real or faux fiddle leaf fig tree. That’s why today, I’m sharing mine and four of my favorite faux fiddle leaf trees.

Today, I thought it would be fun to look back over the past year and share my favorite room makeovers, highlights, and DIY’s with you guys. This post is actually more for me than you, although I hope you enjoy it too. I just think it’s great to reflect on your year so you can grow and get better and better. I rounded up 12 of my favorite posts from the year, so I hope you enjoy them!!
